Charts, diagrams, graphs and so on are simply ways of translating possibly uninteresting, and sometimes statistical, information into a more easily digestible form. There doesn’t seem to be a report, marketing strategy or political statement that doesn’t need to be populated with interesting charts or diagrams to emphasise the point. And Fletcher Ward is really good at them! In 1997 the World Cancer Research Fund published a 500 or so page report entitled Food, Nutrition, Physical Activity, and the Prevention of Cancer - a Global Perspective and we were commissioned to design and produce all the charts and matrices.
The job came up for the second time last year and Fletcher Ward was again commissioned to illustrate some of the rather complex concepts raised by this authoritative publication. Take a look at some of the results below.
